Stocking Inquiries
We love working with new author friends, both traditionally, and self-published! If you're looking to inquire about stocking your book at Call & Response, please fill out the below form, which should only take a few minutes. While we try to stock as many titles here as possible, we are an independently run bookstore with finite shelf space, so we unfortunately cannot accommodate every request we receive! Some things we consider when reviewing stocking inquiries:
- Is the book aligned with Call & Response's mission and vision?
- Is the book available for independent bookstores to purchase at wholesale from a national publisher or distributor (at minimum, Ingram)?
- Is the book professionally printed, and does it follow standard conventions (e.g., priced similarly to other titles within the same genre and format, title printed on the spine, professional-looking cover, etc.)?
- We do not, under any circumstance, carry books with AI-generated covers or AI-generated text. This policy also extends to other materials such as journals, coloring books and beyond.
Author Events
Thank you so much for thinking of Call & Response for hosting your next book event! We ask all authors interested in hosting an event here to fill out the below form. The above considerations for stocking books applies to events.
Given that we are a small but mighty team, we require at least two months advance notice for all author events This is to ensure that there is sufficient time to adequately advertise the event and order event inventory.
If we are able to host your event in our space, you can expect to hear back from us within a week or so.
